Performers in order of appearance
1.David Sztankov is 6 years old from Hungary. He began piano lessons with Ms Esther Law in September 2005. Both of his parents are professional musicians and have been very encouraging towards David's musical progress. David now studies with Mdm Tetyana Trubitsyna. The Menuet in F is one of Mozart's earliest compositions.
2. Jocelyn Tay is 12 years old. She began piano lessons at 4 years of age and violin at 7. Jocelyn is an active member of the 1st violins in the Senior String Ensemble and she plays the piano for the Junior String Ensemble. She studies the piano with Mdm Tetyana Trubitsyna and the violin with Mr. John Allan.
3.Joy Yuriko Sakai is 12 years old. She has studied the piano with Ms Esther Law since September 2005 and is an active member of the Junior String Ensemble where she is one of the piano accompanists.
4.Ms. Alla Yanisheva is from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She is qualified as a teacher and a performer both on the violin and viola. She joined Allegro Music in January 2006 as a Senior Tutor and Chamber Music coach and she conducts the Junior String Ensemble. She also performs regularly with the NSO.
5.Dr. Lim Pei Sien is a graduate of West Virginia University in the USA in piano performance. Dr. Lim currently serves as a lecturer at University College Sedaya International, Kuala Lumpur. At Allegro Music she is a Senior Tutor of the Piano and Theory of Music.
6.Mdm Tetyana Trubitsyna has recently joined Allegro Music and is from Kiev, Ukraine. She is a concert pianist, teacher and piano accompanist. Mdm Tetyana is the coach for the two duet items in the programme tonight.
7.Joan Tan is 17 years old. She began music lessons at the age of 4 and is an active member of the Senior String Ensemble in the 1st violins and also in the Chamber Music Group where she performs on the violin or piano. Joan is a student of Professor Snezana Panovska.
8.Celyn Ng is 14 years old. She began piano lessons at 6 years of age and violin lessons at 10 years of age. She is an active member of the Senior String Ensemble, where she is the current leader, and also active in the Chamber Music Group. Celyn studies the violin with Mr. John Allan. She studies the piano with Mdm Tetyana Trubitsyna.
9. Melanie Tay is 16 years old. She started the piano at 4 years of age and the violin at 11. She is an active member of the 1st violin section of the Senior String Ensemble and rehearses regularly with the Chamber Music Group. Melanie studies the violin with Mr. John Allan.
10.Deana Mokhtar is 16 years old. She is an active member of the 1st violins in the Senior String Ensemble and also the Chamber Music Group. Deana studies the violin with Mr. John Allan.
11.Lee Ai Ru is 13 years old. She began taking piano lessons at 4 years of age and violin lessons at 5. She is an active member of the Senior String Ensemble and also the Chamber Music Group. She studies the violin with Mr. John Allan.
12. Jeon Ju Hee is 15 years old. She started playing the flute at the age of 8 and the violin at 11. Ju Hee is an active member of the Senior String Ensemble. She studies the flute with Mr. Dragan Cicovic and the violin with Mr. John Allan.
13. Scott Chung is 11 years old. He began piano lessons at the age of 4 and is now a student
of Professor Snezana Panovska. This young and enthusiastic pianist will be participating in the
2nd Asean International Chopin Competition in Kuala Lumpur in November of this year. We would like to take this opportunity to wish him well in this competition and also in the future.
